Washougal police are investigating a stabbing that occurred Friday morning at a private residence.

WPD officers were dispatched at approximately 2:30 a.m., to the Camas-Washougal Fire Department Station 43, at 1400 “A” St. A man had walked into the station, claiming he had been stabbed.

The man, whose name has not been released is a 31-year-old Clark County resident. He received a single stab wound to his abdomen at a home on the 2400 block of North “M” Street.

He was transported to a hospital by ambulance. The injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The WPD said the investigation is in the early stages, but it appears to be an isolated incident between two people who know each other. Alcohol may have played a role in the stabbing.
