A woman who began to learn about the safe use, handling and storage of firearms when she was 10 years old has opened her first business — an indoor shooting range that also provides retail sales of guns and accessories, in Camas.
Danna Olson, 26, began bow and rifle hunting and passed a hunter’s safety course when she was 14.
“I am passionate about firearms safety and training,” she said. “I want people to know that the firearm industry can be a safe and fun time for all ages and skill levels, with the proper training and equipment. It all comes down to the safe use, handling and storage of firearms.”
Olson’s business, Safefire Indoor Shooting Range & Retail Sales has 27 air-conditioned lanes, with digital action target equipment and a shooting distance of up to 25 yards. The Gunfighter Simulation System provides surround sound and a variety of scenarios.
The public can rent guns and eye and ear protection to use in the lanes.
