During a month-long food and toy drive, WaferTech Camas employees donated 2,873 pounds of food and 157 toys, as well as gift cards and cash, all to benefit the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Santa’s Posse.

From Nov. 4 to Dec. 9, the local semiconductor manufacturer dedicated a conference room in its lobby to the collection efforts. It was decked out with holiday decorations, and served as a drop-off site for donated goods.

“The goal was to stuff the room full of food and toys that could be given to Santa’s Posse to wrap and deliver to families all around Clark County,” said Lynn R. Seagren, human resources director.

Roy Montoya, chairman of WaferTech’s Community Volunteer Committee, led a group of volunteers who actively engaged with employees to support this activity. They handed out bags for food collection, manned a booth to support the drive during a Benefits Fair, and wrote articles in a weekly newsletter.

WaferTech employees will be volunteering for the Santa’s Posse Wrap Party event Thursday, Dec. 17, at 5 p.m., at the Clark County Events Center. They will join volunteers from all over Clark County to wrap gifts and assemble baskets of food and toys from donations made at many area businesses.
