Schools in the Washougal School District will start two hours late Thursday, Dec. 3.
Buses 2, 6, 9 and 44 will be on snow routes. There will be no Skills Center bus, and no AM community education preschool or special education preschool. The SPACE before-school childcare program will start at 8:30 a.m.
Several other Columbia River Gorge schools are also running two hours late including Stevenson-Carson, Skamania and Mill A. Mt. Pleasant School District is closed due to a power outage.
This is the third consecutive day that classes have been impacted by the recent icy, cold weather. Washougal schools started three hours late on Tuesday, and were canceled on Wednesday. Mt. Pleasant, a 60-student school located off of Highway 14 east of Washougal, has been closed for the past three days.
While weather conditions will remain cold, windy and icy in some spots this morning, temperatures are expected to warm up to the 40s later this afternoon. East winds will also decrease.
