People interested in working in the construction trades are invited to attend an information session.
WorkSource will host the free event Thursday, at 1:30 p.m., at 204 S.E. Stonemill Drive, Ste. 215, Vancouver.
Representatives from Constructing Hope will talk about their free construction pre-apprenticeship program.
There will also be information about the Pacific Northwest Carpenters Institute’s new pre-apprenticeship for women, as well as other options for entering a building trades apprenticeship program. Applicants should be at least 18 years old and have a GED or high school diploma.
WorkSource is a partnership of state agencies, local service providers, colleges and community organizations. It provides free employment and training services to job seekers and employers. It assists employers to recruit and screen for qualified applicants, provide wage reimbursement opportunities through on-the-job trainings, and supply cost-savings information on employment tax credits.
