In addition to offering paintings and music, Second Story Gallery will be presenting Live Wire! House Poet Scott Poole during the reception on Friday that kicks off August’s exhibit.
Poole is the son of one of the featured artists, Cheryl Poole. He can be heard on Oregon Public Broadcasting during the weekly program Live Wire!, taped in Portland and broadcast nationally on PRI. He is known for his on-the-spot compositions that end the show.
In addition, Poole is the author of three poetry books and writes a weekly poem based on the news of the world for Nailed magazine.
The poet will be sharing the evening with musician T Walker Anderson, a popular local performer who has a following among gallery-goers. Also scheduled to perform is the Battle Ground Jazz Combo. The art exhibit “Earth, Water, and Fire, Our Group Show” will continue in the gallery through Aug. 30. The group consists of Marj Casswell, Millie Kimery, Roxce Stavney and Cheryl Poole.
