The Rockaroos concert set for 6:30 p.m. tonight in Crown Park has been cancelled due to continued rain and thunderstorms.
“We are working with the band to hopefully reschedule the concert to sometime in September or October (indoor or outdoor),” stated a message on the Camas Parks and Recreation Department website. “Both the Rockaroos and the city of Camas are disappointed with the cancellation, but since the Rockaroos are loved by so many families in our community, we would like to see them have the optimum opportunity to dance your socks off.”
The band, made up of five adults, plays kids’ music and has performed as part of the Camas Days festival for more than a dozen summers. The group is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
Typically, the group draws from 800 to 1,000 people to the park. Families can bring picnics and kids dance in front of the stage.
Updates on a possible Rockaroos concert will be posted via Facebook and the city website, www.ci.camas.wa.us.
