Five people will be interviewed on Monday in an effort to fill the vacancy that exists on the Washougal City Council.
According to a press release from the city of Washougal, Morry Secrest, Michelle C. Wagner, Rosemary Nielson, Michael B. Lumbard and Jason Dodge submitted applications for Position No. 2.
The interview and appointment process will be held during the regular city council meeting that begins at 7 p.m., Monday, July 14, at City Hall, 1701 “C” St.
The person appointed by the City Council will replace Caryn Plinski, who resigned as of May 31 because she and her family have purchased a home that is outside of Washougal’s city limits.
Council Position 2 will be part of the 2015 Primary and General Election cycle. The individual who is appointed to succeed Plinski will serve until the results of the November 2015 General Election are certified later that month.
