Local residents will collect donations for the Meals on Wheels program.
The collection effort by volunteers will occur Saturday, Nov. 23 through Wednesday, Nov. 27, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., at New Seasons Market, at Fisher’s Landing Marketplace, 2100 S.E. 164th Ave., Vancouver.
Donations can be made at the registers during store hours Nov. 23 and 24, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Nov. 25 through 27, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Meals on Wheels provides food for area homebound senior citizens.
LeeAnn O’Neil, community coordinator of the New Seasons Fisher’s Landing location, said the company has supported Meals on Wheels for 13 years.
That includes donating 50 cents from the sale of each sourdough loaf to the organization and paying employees to deliver food on Meals on Wheels routes.
O’Neil has volunteered for Meals on Wheels for seven years.
A donation of $3.95 will pay for one meal.
“We’ll accept donations of any amount,” O’Neil said.
