‘Scholarships 101’ is Wednesday

Washington State University Vancouver will host a “Scholarships 101” workshop at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 2 in the Dengerink Administration building, room 110. The event is free to the public and free parking will be available in the Orange 1 lot.

The workshop is intended as a jumping-off point for all college-bound students no matter their age, current financial situation or school they plan to attend. The workshop will cover where to find the best scholarships, how to write award-winning essays and offer helpful tips from prior scholarship recipients.

Preschool Childfind screening set

Free hearing, vision, speech, concepts and motor development screenings are being offered for all children ages 3 to 5 who live within the Camas School District boundary.

The screening is available by appointment only on Wednesday, Jan. 9. To schedule a screening, call the Special Services department at 833-5570.

‘E-Waste’ recycling event is next weekend

The Clark County Skills Center Electro-Digital Technologies Program is hosting a post-holiday “E-Waste” recycling event from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 11, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12 at the Skills Center, 12200 N.E. 28th St. in Vancouver.

Donations of computers, printers and peripherals will be recycled free of charge. No appliances or televisions will be accepted. For more information, call the Skills Center at 604-1050, Ext. 2124 or 2125.
