Boys and Girls Club serves Camas and Washougal residents
I am writing in response to the article in the Sept. 4 Post Record, regarding Washougal councilwoman Joyce Lindsey’s desire to bring another Boys and Girls Club to our area.
I agree with the article that the Boys and Girls Club is a positive place for kids and provides opportunities for youth, as well as affordable after school supervision. Those opportunities have been alive and well in our community for several years at the Jack, Will and Rob Boys and Girls Club. The club currently serves over 2,300 youth in the Camas and Washougal community. Approximately 50 children are bussed directly from Washougal schools to the club daily.
Since the current club membership is at approximately 60 percent capacity, I encourage Washougal residents who have not already taken advantage of the tutoring, art programs, leadership mentoring, and organized sports, to head over and tour the facility. I also encourage Lindsey to put her efforts towards growing and strengthening the current club rather than reinventing the wheel.

Pike has skills and experience
I would like to thank and congratulate Liz Pike for stepping forward to represent her friends and neighbors as Washington’s State Representative in the 18th District. We are fortunate to have such a talented, articulate and intelligent woman to represent our interests in Olympia.
As a farmer, advertising executive, business owner, former city councilor and business advocate Liz has the extensive skills, experience and background to be a great Washington State Representative.
