Before going to bed Saturday night, remember to set clocks back one hour in preparation for the end of daylight saving time. The time change officially begins at 2 a.m. on Sunday.
It’s also a good time to change smoke detector batteries, according to emergency services officials.
“Smoke alarms most often fail because of missing, dead or disconnected batteries, so maintenance is a simple, effective way to protect you and your family,” said Washington State Fire Marshal Charles M. Duffy.
Daylight saving time returns the second Sunday in March.
