Rolland and Jayne Salsberry celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary during a party with family and friends on Saturday at the Camas-Washougal Wildlife League in Camas.
The couple was married Sept. 9, 1961, and moved to Camas, a small town they loved, where Rolland first worked for Tidland and later for Crown Zellerbach. Jayne worked at JC Penney and then the Camas School District.
In 1972, they started their business, Industrial Plastics, at the Port of Camas-Washougal. The company grew to more than 30 employees and made plastic products for industry. They retired and sold the business in 1992 to Familian NW.
Rolland’s lifelong interest has been old guns, history and a lot of John Wayne movies. Jayne loves family get-togethers and traveling to Reno. As each grandchild turned 21, they got a trip with her.
They love to sail and RV with the 49ers. Rolland and Jayne have traveled together to many countries and lately, enjoy cruising. They will take a round trip cruise to Hawaii for their golden anniversary.
Their children are Randle Salsberry and Terri Angell of Camas, Cyndie Hobart and husband, Lloyd Hobart of Molalla, Ore., six grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and two dogs.
