Occupants receive minor injuries

A four-passenger plane crashed near Larch Corrections Center in Yacolt Tuesday morning. Both male occupants survived with non life-threatening injuries.

Emergency crews responded to a small plane crash in the Larch Mountain area this morning.

According to a press release from Clark County Fire District 3, the call came in at 10:51 a.m. Tuesday morning. According to reports, the four-seat private plane clipped tree tops as it crash landed in a gravel pit just east of “Four Corners” near Larch Corrections Center in Yacolt.

Two male occupants were extricated from the plane, treated at the scene, and transported to Southwest Washington Medical Center in Vancouver. Their injuries were not life-threatening.

Firefighters applied foam to the crash site to reduce the hazard of fire from a small fuel leak.

In addition to emergency response personnel from Fire District 3, North County Emergency Medical Services, East County Fire & Rescue, Camas Fire Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Office also responded.
