Police are hoping the public can help find a Camas man who has been missing since Monday, Dec. 5.

Christopher Michael Kane, 57, was reported missing by family members on Wednesday.

Kane, who lives and works in the Camas area, was last seen by co-workers during the late morning hours of Monday, Dec. 5. He has not been seen or heard from since.

According to a press release from the Portland Police Bureau, family and friends describe Kane as a highly reliable, professional man, who follows a very predictable schedule. They said it is unheard of that he would fail to show up for personal and professional appointments.

Kane owns a boat that is moored at a Hayden Island marina, in North Portland. His truck was found parked at the marina and has been recovered by police as a part of the investigation, which is being conducted by detectives from the Camas Police Department and the Portland Police Bureau’s Missing Persons Unit.

Detectives have also searched the boat, as well as Kane’s residence, with the family’s cooperation. So far police say there is no evidence of foul play, but Kane’s disappearance is being investigated as highly unusual.

Kane is a white male, stands 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds. He is usually clean-shaved, with short, salt and pepper hair, and has brown eyes and wears glasses. His clothing description is unknown.

Anyone who knows of Kane’s whereabouts should call 9-1-1.

Anyone with additional information about this case should call Camas Police Department Sgt. Chuck Nadgwick at 817-1521.
