No arrests have been made in connection with an armed robbery that took place at the U.S. Bank in downtown Camas on Wednesday evening.
According to Federal Bureau of Investigation public information officer Fred Gutt, at approximately 6:15 p.m. a man who was observed with a small handgun demanded money from a teller at the bank located at 430 N.E. Adams St. The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect is described as a white male, 35 to 45 years old, approximately 5 feet, 7 inches tall.
Surveillance photos of the incident will be released as soon as they are available, Gutt said this morning.
The FBI and the Camas Police Department are currently investigating the crime. Gutt said FBI officials often get involved in investigating bank robberies involving a weapon, because charges could come down from the federal level.
Anyone with information pertaining to the incident should call 911.
