Retired United States Army Brigadier General Robert McFarlin, of Camas, came to Camas High School on Friday, May 18, to share 30 year’s worth of Army memories with teacher Lori Thornton’s world history students.

The school year is winding down and graduation for the class of 2018 is right around the corner. Over the next few weeks, The Post-Record will cover several graduation-related events, including our 2018 Camas-Washougal Graduation special section, which features photos of Camas-Washougal seniors as well as feature stories on the high schools’ valedictorians. National Teacher Appreciation Day fell on May 8 this year, the same day as a regularly scheduled Washougal School Board meeting, and dozens of Washougal teachers showed up with an idea for how district leaders could really show their appreciation — increasing teacher salaries to match compensation packages offered by surrounding school districts.
