Camas teachers, district grapple with McCleary

The Camas Education Association (CEA) hopes a recent letter from the Washington State Superintendent of Public Instruction to legislators will add weight to their argument that the salary increase available to educators during this year’s collective bargaining negotiations has no cap.

Camas High School student Emma McBride is one of 65 students nationwide accepted into the Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study program, which allows her to spend the upcoming school year studying abroad in Ghana.

Clark County Fair turns 150

Eighteen-year-old Korrie MacIntyre, of Camas, has been riding horses since she was 6 years old, and has let her love of the sport guide her into roles within the Clark County 4-H Club and Clark County Fair since she was 10 years old.

Washougal teachers, district near deal

Representatives from the Washougal teachers’ union and school district have met three times over the past week to nail down a new bargaining agreement.

A collection of young adult books is available to check out at the Camas Public Library. The Camas Library will separate its catalog from the Fort Vancouver Regional Library with a goal to  analyze data and update its own separate catalog to better fit the interests of Camas residents.
