Nine apply to fill vacant Camas City Council seat

The Camas City Council will consider nine applicants hoping to fill the Ward 1, Position 1 Council seat left vacant this summer, after the surprise resignation of then-Councilwoman Shannon Roberts on July 27.

Camas narrows city administrator search

Four months after Camas Mayor Steve Hogan announced the city was going back to the drawing board following its nationwide search for a new city administrator, Hogan and other city officials are interviewing two new candidates for the city’s top staff position.

City of Camas to survey residents

Camas officials are hoping a 2022 citywide community survey will shed some light on how Camas residents feel about their city government and the services it provides.

Camas Station moves forward

An independent hearings examiner has cleared the way for Camas Station, a gas station-car wash-retail complex, to be developed at the corner of Northwest Brady Road and Northwest 16th Avenue in Camas’ Prune Hill neighborhood.

Camas North Shore: ‘Growth will happen here, so we have to manage it the best we can’

As Camas city officials inch closer to implementing policies that will shape the look and feel of Camas’ North Shore area — while staying true to the eight-point North Shore Vision approved by the Camas City Council in the fall of 2020 — community members continue to weigh in on what they would like to see in the mostly undeveloped, 800-acre, mixed-use area located off the northeast section of Camas’ Lacamas Lake.

Camas OKs police hiring bonuses

Camas officials have agreed to “sweeten the pot” for potential police recruits by offering financial bonuses worth up to $30,000 to police officers who choose to work for the city of Camas.
