Washougal city councilor revisits Navy ship idea

Seven years after a failed attempt to site a decommissioned Navy aircraft carrier near Fairview, Oregon, a Washougal city councilman has resurrected the idea of bringing a Navy ship to the Columbia River.

Four downtown Camas businesses will celebrate a milestone this week with a 10-year-anniversary celebration at Camas Bike & Sport during the Camas First Friday celebrations on June 7.

Camas officials are moving forward with plans to build a Camas-centric community center and will likely bring the issue to voters in the November general election.

When you ask 18-year-old Amelia Pullen the recipe for what got her to where she is today — preparing to graduate as one of Washougal High School’s four valedictorians for the class of 2019, she likely will point to a mixture that is equal parts family support, the unconditional love of her pets, the guidance of a few dedicated teachers and finding a good balance between hard work and relaxation.

Camas to require license for businesses

Camas joined other Clark County cities this week after the Camas City Council unanimously approved a city of Camas business license during its regular meeting Monday.
