The Camas baseball team scored six runs in the first four innings of Friday’s game at Battle Ground, but this showcase of fiery competitors was just getting started.
One minute, Camas got even. The next minute, it was all over for the Papermakers.
The Camas High School track and field teams combined for an eighth place finish at the Oregon Relays Friday and Saturday, in Eugene.
The Washougal Panthers are running around the track in record times.
With close to 200 track and field athletes on each team, Tuesday’s meet between Camas and Skyview turned into a four-hour tour.
North Bonneville is known for its dam on the Columbia River, golf course in the shadow of Beacon Rock and Chevron gas station at milepost 38 along State Route 14.
“I walked around the block, jogged around the block, ran my first mile, did my first 5K and then on to marathons,” Johnson said. “I felt like I turned a corner. I finally left all that behind me. I will never go back to that old lifestyle.”
Back on the diamond for the first time after spring break Monday, the Papermakers struck for two runs in the top of the seventh inning to beat their rivals.
