Washougal Unified teams place at esports tournament

Special Olympics Washington cancelled all Unified high school sports during the 2020-21 school year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, the group encouraged schools to participate in its “Virtual Winter Games,” which included a wellness cup, a fitness heptathlon and an esports tournament.

New 3-foot rule gives local schools reopening leeway

School district leaders in Camas and Washougal say a new COVID-19 social distancing guideline inside school classrooms will allow local elementary, middle and high schools the ability to ramp up in-person learning.

State group honors Washougal educator

Washougal educator Charlotte Lartey, recently named the recipient of the Washington Education Association Human and Civil Rights Committee’s 2020-21 Elaine Akagi Cultural Awareness award, has not had an easy year.
