Washougal QB makes debut on Panthers’ varsity baseball team

Tristan Farrell’s first season as the Washougal High School football team’s starting quarterback included six touchdowns and 904 yards thrown over the 2020-21 condensed season’s five games and a path toward earning an all-2A Greater St. Helens League first-team selection.

Washougal Studio Artists Tour perseveres after founder’s move to CA

After Washougal artist Angela Ridgway moved to California over the summer of 2020, the Washougal Studio Artists Tour faced an uncertain future. Local creators questioned whether the annual event, which Ridgway founded in 2018, could continue without her unique blend of altruistic spirit and organizational skill.

Washougal Unified teams place at esports tournament

Special Olympics Washington cancelled all Unified high school sports during the 2020-21 school year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, the group encouraged schools to participate in its “Virtual Winter Games,” which included a wellness cup, a fitness heptathlon and an esports tournament.

New 3-foot rule gives local schools reopening leeway

School district leaders in Camas and Washougal say a new COVID-19 social distancing guideline inside school classrooms will allow local elementary, middle and high schools the ability to ramp up in-person learning.
