C-W Babe Ruth team takes 2nd at regional tourney

Steve Sutton wasn’t completely confident that his Camas-Washougal 15U all-star baseball team could make a deep run at the Pacific Northwest Babe Ruth 13-15 regional tournament, held July 26-31 in Kelso. Sutton knew his team was talented, of course, but he also knew that the other teams were talented as well.

Forest Moon Yoga opens in Washougal

The dull yellow interior walls of the Forest Moon Yoga studio in downtown Washougal are bereft of any decoration whatsoever. There’s no artwork, no photographs, no shelves, no signs 一 absolutely nothing. One would never be able to tell the space formerly housed a tattoo parlor.

Port director rides for a good cause

Port of Camas-Washougal Executive Director David Ripp usually hops on a bicycle to exercise, de-stress and connect with the natural environment. Later this summer, he’ll add “riding for a good cause” to that list.

Washougal residents share ideas for future library

By the end of the day on Thursday, July 29, the informational sign boards that lined the interior of the Washougal Town Square were covered with a variety of brightly-colored Post-it notes containing a variety of handwritten comments about what local residents would like to see in Washougal’s future library.

Washougal weightlifter goes for ‘grand slam’

When Katherine Brown started lifting weights in 2015, she simply wanted to get into better shape. She had never touched a barbell in her life, and didn’t know if she could succeed in her newly chosen activity. If somebody would have asked her back then about breaking national records and winning world titles, she likely would have laughed. Those types of achievements were simply unfathomable to her.
