TreeSong to launch ‘forest school’ for children

Michelle Fox had been wanting to expand the children’s programming at the TreeSong Nature Awareness and Retreat Center for the past several years, but couldn’t come to a final decision until earlier this year, when a series of events lined up perfectly to create an opportunity for the Washougal nonprofit orgnization’s next evolution.

Police investigate Smead’s Pub vandalism

The owner of Smead’s Pub in Washougal says that an “inexperienced arsonist” threw two incendiary devices onto her establishment’s roof in the early morning hours of Sunday, July 31, causing damage to the building but no injuries.

New ‘taps and trucks’ site opening in Washougal

Megan and Tyler Davis love to eat good food, drink good beer and socialize with their friends in casual, family friendly establishments. They didn’t see anything like that in Washougal, so they decided to create one themselves.

Washougal seeks public’s input on COVID funds, long-term vision

City of Washougal leaders are seeking input from community members on two issues critical to the future of Washougal: the city’s use of its federal COVID-recovery funds and the creation of a long-term strategic plan that will “define the future vision of Washougal.”

Washougal bodybuilder finds focus

Sitting on a plateau in Wyoming, immersed in a series of deeply emotional meditative thoughts, Jon Lee realized that he was dying. Not literally, of course. But he believed that he was killing himself, in a way. He felt as though something was missing from his life. Shaken by the recent death-by-sucide of a friend, he began to ask himself difficult questions.

Washougal Art Festival returns Aug. 13

The Washougal Arts and Culture Alliance (WACA) will hold its seventh annual Washougal Art Festival from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at Reflection Plaza, 1703 Main Street, Washougal.
