Bob and Pat Orr, of Camas, enjoyed Christmas Eve with their seven grandchildren, Aviya, 6, Aiden and Nolan, 10 months, Ananias and Thaddeus, 3 months, Avery, 14, and Nate, 12. "It's double the fun and double the work," Pat said, regarding the two sets of identical twins born in 2014.

Retiring Clark County Sheriff Garry Lucas (left) recently looked at historical photos of downtown Camas, with Lyle Shaver (right), former owner of Sportsman Barber Shop. That business is located at 214 N.E. Fourth Ave., next to the former site of Cowan's Cigar Store, a tavern restaurant that was owned by Lucas' father, Donald Lucas, and uncle, Lamont "Smokey" Lucas, from the mid-1940s to the early 1950s.

Camas Police continue to investigate a fatal pedestrian/vehicle accident, that left a two-year old boy injured.

Volunteers at Bethel Community Church put together "blessings bags" of toiletries and non-perishable food for homeless individuals. The bags will be distributed during the serving of complimentary "Refuel Fridays," dinners, starting Jan. 2, from 4 to 5 p.m., in the Washougal Community Center. The effort to help the under served involves local churches, the city of Washougal, the Washougal School District, non-profit organizations and the Inter-Faith Treasure House.

CWEDA approves budget

The Camas-Washougal Economic Development Association board has approved a $200,000 budget for 2015. It includes $147,600 for staffing (President and Chief Executive Officer Paul Dennis, Marketing Consultant Rene Carroll and other contractors). The annual office lease for Suite 208, in Washougal Town Square, at 1700 Main St., is $16,800.
