UPDATE: SR-14 Semi-truck accident is cleared

An accident involving an overturned semi-truck has been cleared. All lanes of eastbound State Route 14 near I-205, at Milepost 7, had been blocked, from approximately 2:40 to 5:12 p.m.

Local pilots will offer flights for $25 each, during Camas Days. The Camas-Washougal Aviation Association open house, along with opportunities to fly with CWAA members, will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, July 23, at Grove Field Airport, 632 N.E. 267th Ave., Camas. The proceeds from the flights, as well as the annual steak/chicken dinner, which will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturday, July 22, at the airport, go into a scholarship fund for Camas-Washougal students seeking careers in aviation. Washougal residents fume over fireworks

Several Washougal residents did not have such a fantastic Fourth of July this year. Instead, a few locals spent part of the holiday watering their lawns and houses to reduce the risk of fireworks-related fires. Others camped out in closets with frightened pets, trying to reduce their animals’ exposure to the loud noises.

Candidates address C-W issues at forum

A League of Women Voters of Clark County forum held Tuesday night at the Camas Public Library featured city council candidates competing in the Aug. 1 primary, and covered a broad range of topics, including everything from park funding and population growth to youth suicide and homelessness.
