Seminar for contractors will be held March 4

Session to focus on protecting the right to receive payment

The Southwest Washington Contractors Association and Riverview Community Bank will present a business seminar focused on protecting the contractors’ right to payment.

The seminar will be held Friday, March 4, from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Waste Connections of Washington, Inc. office, 12115 N.E. 99th St., Ste. 1830, Vancouver.

Speakers will include Katy Brooks, economic development director at the Port of Vancouver, and Jim Edwards, of Gramor Development.

The workshop topics will be Protecting Your Right to Payment for Changes and Claims, Protecting Your Rights to Lien and Bond Claims and the Top 10 Ways to Get Into a Lawsuit. Presentations will be given by representatives of Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt and Landerholm, P.S.

The cost to attend, which includes coffee, pastries and lunch, will be $90 for the first SWCA member and $45 for each additional person from the same company. The cost for non-members to attend will be $120 each.
