The Camas High School boys swimming team put the finishing touches on a perfect season by winning the Southwest Washington Invitational Saturday, in Longview.
The Papermakers racked up 602.5 points to win the 16-school meet. Mountain View was second with 545, Mark Morris third with 504 and Union fourth with 311.
Freshman Eric Wu finished in first place in all four of his events. He earned a state qualifying time in the 200-meter individual medley (2:00.95) and just missed qualifying for state in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.69).
Luke Albert, Tom Utas, Wu and Andrey Khabibrakhmanov clinched first place in the 200 freestyle relay (1:33.79). Utas, Wu, Finn McClone and Albert claimed first place in the 400 freestyle relay (3:28.08). Zachary Macia, Jakob Duerfeldt, Danill Timchenko and Austin Fogel took third place in the 200 free relay (1:42.02). Fogel, Jeff Fadlovich, Maxwell Crowson and Noah Macia notched third place in the 400 free relay (3:40.49).
Washougal freshman Isaiah Ross earned first place in the 200 free (1:54.59) and the 500 free (5:07.05). Utas (2:05.02) and Fogel (2:07.26) grabbed second and third place for Camas in the 200 individual medley. McClone (5:17.74) and Utas (5:19.27) took second and third place in the 500 free, and Noah Macia notched fifth place (5:41.14).
