Student to perform at the Camas library

Camas High School senior Matthew Abbay will peform a mix of covers and original work on his guitar as a part of the Camas Public Library’s “Live Music Mondays.”

It will take place in the totem pole room at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25 and is suitable for all ages.

This is part of the senior project for student Cameron Guess, and revolves around organizing musical guests at the library and other such duties.

The library is located at 625 N.E. Fourth Ave.

Local residents named to fall EOU dean’s list

Eastern Oregon University has named local students to the dean’s list for fall term 2015.

Qualifying students must earn a GPA of 3.5 or better while completing a minimum of 12 hours of graded coursework for the duration of the term.

Students include Michelle Stoller of Camas; and Sonja Adams, Danielle DeVall and Alan Stogin of Washougal.

Warner Pacific College announces dean’s list

Several local students have been named to the dean’s list at Warner Pacific College for the fall 2015 semester.

To be named to the list, students must earn at least a 3.5 GPA and be enrolled full-time.

They include Cali Lamb of Camas; and Kelsey Akers, Kaili Goodpaster and Erandi Osorio of Washougal.

C-W grads make CWU honor roll

Several Camas and Washougal students were named to the fall honor roll at Central Washington University.

To be named to the honor roll, students must earn at least a 3.5 GPA and take at least 12 hours of graded credits.

Camas students include Cait Pudlitzke, Jace Schumacher, Grayson Windle, Aryelle Pena, Danielle Przedwojewski, Robert Zarcone, Courtney Williams, Stephen Heil, Kaitlyn Pellens, Courtney Clay, Valerie Campbell and Amanda Felipe.

Washougal students include Brittney Cutter, Alicia Huegli, Emylee Hughes, Bryan Kelly and Tenley Stedman.

Mad Science classes begin Jan. 13

Mad Science classes are starting at Woodburn and Lacamas Heights elementary schools, and at Camas School District office on Wednesdays, Jan. 13 through Feb. 17. Classes take place after school from 1:20 to 2:20 p.m. at the elementary schools and from 2 to 3 p.m. at JDZ. The fee is $85 for children in kindergarten through fifth grade.

STEM class for girls offered

There will be a interactive day of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) activities and presentations on Saturday, Jan. 23

The class is geared towards girls in the fifth through eighth grades and will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1:40 p.m. at Camas High School, 26900 S.E. 15th St.

Fees are $10 per student if registered by Wednesday, Jan. 20 or $20 afterward.
