After four months without a contract, the Washougal Association of Educators and school district administration have reached a tentative agreement.
The terms of the teachers’ new, two-year contract will not be released until the agreement is ratified by the WAE membership and School Board, which will likely occur in January, according to a press release.
The WAE and district met in three mediation sessions, the most recent on Dec. 28, after negotiations came to a standstill over evaluation, curriculum and compensation issues. The previous contract expired Aug. 31.
Both sides declined to give further comment about the contract until it has been ratified.
