Creating one’s own decorations can add a unique touch to holiday home decor.
Recently, the Garden Club of Camas Washougal hosted its annual fall/holiday centerpiece making event.
The Camas Community Center meeting room was transformed into a garden of sorts, with flowers, plants and containers filling the tables.
Karen Bork has led the efforts for the past few years.
“Ladies, we have more flowers than the market and more containers than you’ll know what to do with,” she said.
Bork noted that her favorite aspect of this particular event, which is held during the club’s regular meeting, is being with the other members.
“They are a fun group,” she said. “There’s always something different to do.”
She joined the club seven years ago and enjoys the speakers and various events.
Bork also volunteers her flower and centerpiece arranging talents in Portland, and has decorated for weddings.
