Passion.
Not all of us can say we are truly pursuing our passions. For many, other life priorities seem to get in the way. Earning a paycheck, putting food on the table, paying the rent, sometimes take precedence over doing what truly makes us happy.
But, there are those lucky ones who have managed to integrate the pursuit of passions into their working life, social life or retirement life. They made a passion their priority.
A handful of these people are profiled in a special section that is included in today’s Post-Record. We’re calling it “Passionate Pursuits.”
Highlights include the story of Dale Rule, who overcame obesity and now inspires others to do the same. He has organized four, 24-hour walking events to raise awareness about the issue, and recently published a book. There’s also the story of a Clark County family that has been making wine for more than three decades, on a piece of property that passed down from generation to generation for more than 110 years. And finally, there’s the tale of a quirky but kind man who refers to himself as “the old hermit at Skunk Hollow.” He’s been working for several years to make a local roadway safe for pedestrians and bicyclists.
These stories and more appear inside Passionate Pursuits, a look at the hobbies, interests and endeavors that Camas and Washougal residents are passionate about.
