Angela Hancock, a Sodexo Food Service employee from the Washougal School District, was the winner of the May Sodexo Experience District Award.
Hancock was recognized for her willingness to help out with Sodexo jobs at school and for her volunteer efforts that were, “instrumental in the passage of the WSD capital improvement bond this past February,” according to a press release.
There were 15 other nominees from throughout the district service area. This is the first time a Washougal employee has won the award in the two years they have participated.
“The Sodexo Experience Award aims to promote and reward top-notch service,” said Mark Jasper, Sodexo nutrition services manager in Washougal.
He noted that before ever meeting Hancock, he had heard about her work ethic.
“It’s noticeable when someone, no matter what the job, does their very best every time,” Jasper said. “They all praised her. They told me that she was like a little tornado that went in to fix, clean or organize what needed to be done. You never needed to ask her. She would see something and just do it. It was a pleasure to nominate Angela.” Hancock began working for Sodexo in August 2014.
