A 10-week course focusing on agricultural entrepreneurship and business planning is being offered in Hazel Dell by the WSU Clark County Extension.
The course, scheduled for Wednesdays, Jan. 14 to March 18, from 6 to 9 p.m., is designed to help entrepreneurs develop a workable business plan to guide the success and sustainability of their agricultural enterprise. It will help beginning and existing farmers gain skills in business planning and aspects of operating a sustainable business.
“A farm business plan is a road map that can guide farmers to be successful and sustainable,” said Doug Steinbarger, WSU Clark County Extension director.
Emphasis will be placed on direct marketing, record keeping, and financial and legal issues unique to agricultural businesses.
Guest speakers will include farm marketing specialists, accountants, attorneys, agricultural professionals and local farm business owners who will share their farming and marketing experiences.
