A local resident is dancing two lead roles in a Thanksgiving weekend production at The Portland Ballet.
The Thanksgiving double bill includes the world premier of John Clifford’s “Tales from Mother Goose,” and his popular family favorite, “The Enchanted Toyshop.”
Annie Garcia, 17, a senior at Camas High School, has landed the roles of Princess in “Mother Goose,” and Giselle in “The Enchanted Toyshop.”
She began dancing at age 3 and has attended multiple summer intensives at TPB, as well as with the Atlanta ballet. Her favorite role was dancing the Prelude in “Les Slyphides” in 2013.
During an interview with the Post-Record in December 2012, Garcia said she has wanted to dance professionally since she was a little girl, and enjoys learning complicated steps and making breakthroughs in class.
