News For the fifth time in five years, C-Tran has raised its fares.
The new fares, approved by a majority of the C-TRAN board of directors on May 13, were implemented yesterday. They are:
o C-Zone adult – $1.75 cash, $4.25 day pass, $61 monthly pass, $671 annual pass
o C-VAN – $1.75 cash, $56 monthly pass, $616 annual pass
o Express – $3.75 cash, $7.50 day pass, $122 monthly pass, $1,342 annual pass
This increase is part of a strategy to implement smaller, more regular increases to improve C-Tran’s rate of farebox recovery. In 2008, the board adopted a policy for the annual fare increases to address inflation that passengers could anticipate.
