Robert Carmack and Morrison Polkinghorne, authors of “The Burma Cookbook: Recipes from the Land of a Million Pagodas,” will present an hour-long illustrated history of Burma/Myanmar through its food on Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 10:30 a.m., at the Camas Public Library.
Afterwards, they will be selling and autographing copies of the soon-to-be-released first edition of the book.
Carmack, a well-known Camas native, is the author of five cookbooks. He currently resides in Sydney, Australia, but says “I feel a special kinship and appreciation for where I spent my formative years.”
In reviews, “The Burma Cookbook” has been described as part history, part travelogue and part cookbook.
The program will be of special interest to those who took part in the Camas Reads The Piano Tuner events in 2008.
