Members of Lacamas Community Credit Union have until Wednesday to nominate themselves or another credit union member to receive a holiday dinner basket in December.
The tradition was started in 2008 by LCCU President and CEO Kathleen Romane in response to tough economic conditions.
“Part of the Lacamas mission is giving back to our community, and we wanted to demonstrate our care for families in need by providing them with the means to enjoy a bountiful holiday meal,” she said.
As part of the program, the credit union’s staff volunteers to shop for grocery items and gift cards, and assemble and distribute the baskets. The program is part of LCCU’s 2010 Community Partnership Program, a group of area organizations that benefit from the credit union’s fundraising efforts. Throughout the year, LCCU raises funds for its community partnerships through its skip payment programs, Entertainment Book sales and other efforts.
Nomination forms can be found at www.lacamas.org, and at all branches in Camas, Washougal and Vancouver.
