The Papermaker football team opened the postseason with a 58-0 victory over Bainbridge Friday, at Doc Harris Stadium.

It took about seven minutes for the Papermakers to get the machines warmed up Friday night, at Doc Harris Stadium. In the next five minutes, they scored 21 points.

After snagging a short pass from Tony Gennaro, Zack Marshall zigzagged around the defenders to score the first of his three touchdowns in the game.

Kyle Goodnow sacked the opposing quarterback, and Bainbridge punted the ball back to Camas. Marshall cranked his wheels again for a 21-yard touchdown run.

Chris Galusha intercepted the ball for Camas. After a strike to the end zone by John Norcross was called back for holding, Gennaro reloaded and fired a 61-yard touchdown pass to John Payne.

All of this happened before the first quarter ended. The Papermakers rolled to a 58-0 victory to return to the state tournament.

Gennaro capped off the evening with five touchdown passes. Payne made two of those touchdown catches and recovered a fumble.

Jonathan Warner tumbled into the end zone with the football between his legs for a touchdown. Nate Beasley had a touchdown catch and an interception.

Nikko DeVera kicked a 30-yard field goal. After Colton Dowd plowed into the quarterback and knocked the ball loose, Michael Digenova scooped it up and took it all the way back for a touchdown.

Camas (9-1) will be back at Doc Harris Stadium next week for another thriller. Read more about this game in Tuesday’s print edition of the Post-Record.
