Live from Camas, it’s High School Blitz.
The KATU News cameras were rolling at Doc Harris Stadium Friday night, as the Papermaker football team disposed of the Prairie Falcons 35-6.
Quarterback Tony Gennaro threw for 188 yards and two touchdowns to Zach Eagle and John Norcross. Zack Marshall rushed for 98 yards and a touchdown. Nate Beasley finished with two touchdown runs and two interceptions.
Senior defensive back John Payne said the Papermakers were steaming after last week’s loss to Skyview, and they took their frustrations out on the Falcons.
“Every loss either makes you or breaks you,” he said. “That loss to Skyview made us. We’re not going to lose any more games. From here on out, we just refuse to lose.”
After the game, more than 200 students waited anxiously in the gym with the football players, cheerleaders and marching band to be on television. At 11:30 p.m., Camas went live to the Vancouver and Portland Metro areas.
