Students will once again get ready to board the yellow buses for the first day of school. Classes begin Tuesday, Aug. 30 in Washougal and Tuesday, Sept. 6 in Camas.

A new school year will soon begin for Camas and Washougal students, and with it come changes.

Namely, these include three new faces in the district administration buildings in both districts, as well as different start times for Camas schools.

The Post-Record conducted interviews with new Washougal superintendent Dawn Tarzian and curriculum director David Tudor, and new Camas assistant superintendent Jeff Snell to get their perspectives and goals for the upcoming school year.

Other changes that are coming include different school start times for Camas schools due to the district wanting a more efficient busing schedule, and because of studies that have indicated teens learn better when they begin school later in the morning.
