Boy Scout Joel Edward Holland II of Troop 549 was recently awarded the rank of Eagle Scout, which is Scouting’s highest honor.
His Eagle Court of Honor was held Thursday, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Washougal.
For his project, Holland organized and executed an Emergency Preparedness Education Day where citizens came together to learn about community and personal emergency preparation.
Holland is the son of Jocelyn and stepson of Richard Melum, and son of Joel Holland.
He graduated from Washougal High School and is in his second year at Clark College, following a year of participating in the Running Start program.
