CHS students do well at Science and Engineering Fair
Two teams from Camas High School earned honors at the Southwest Washington Science and Engineering Fair, held Feb. 26 at Skyview High School in Vancouver.
The CHS team of Nicholas Lim and Olivia Janson were first in their category, best in their division, and were awarded the best overall display for their project, titled: “Of mice and Parkinson’s: the effect of living with friends in an enriched environment.”
The re[prt is based on the students’ findings from an experiment last summer with mice under the direction of Dr. Charles Meshul at the Veterans Administration Hospital research labs in Portland.
The team of Akira Serrano and Amanda Fleck earned honorable mention for their project titled “Oneirology (The Science of Dreams).”
Their study compared the food eaten before going to bed with the type and intensity of dreams.
