Jacob Kaler and the Camas boys basketball team came to play Tuesday night.
Kaler racked up 35 points, and the Papermakers splintered the Eagles 84-57 in the Camas warehouse to take over first place in the 3A Greater St. Helens League standings.
Kyle Friend added 14 points, going 7-for-7 from the field. Addison Owen chipped in 10 points, and just missed a triple double. Kevin Basilio, Bryan Butler and Marc Eppinger each scored six points.
Camas jumped out to a 45-20 lead at halftime, outscoring Hudson’s Bay 22-13 in the first quarter and 23-7 in the second. Kaler was the catalyst with 17 points.
Just when you thought he and the team might be slowing down, Kaler delivered another 14 points in the third quarter. He capped it all off with a 3-pointer at the buzzer.
The Papermakers play at Prairie High School Thursday, and host Mountain View on Friday, Feb. 4. Both games begin at 7 p.m.
