A city of Camas employee known for his positive attitude has been named the 2010 Employee of the Year.
Paul Hargrave, facilities operations specialist with the public works department, earned the honor. He has been employed by the city of Camas for more than 18 years.
When presenting the award during a ceremony on Dec. 10, Mayor Paul Dennis said Hargrave is a valued employee who is respected by his coworkers.
“You have demonstrated an ability to promptly respond to any issue with a ‘can-do’ attitude,” Dennis said. “You are ingenious at fixing problems, have a great work ethic, and are held in high regard by others. We appreciate and admire your dedication.”
Other employees recognized for their contributions to the city include permit technician Kari Murphy who earned the Outstanding Customer Service Award; Police Sergeant Doug Norcross who received the “Dollars and Sense” award; chief sanitation worker Cal Hittle, who was presented with the Inspirational Award; and Camas Police Department Support Assistant Susan Strohschein, who was recognized with the 2010 Police Department Employee of the Year Award.
