The football bounced and spun Camas’ way Friday night, in a 34-15 victory over the Heritage Timberwolves at Doc Harris Stadium.
Heritage could not get a handle on the opening kickoff, and Scott Feather recovered the loose ball for the Papermakers. It was a big time play that got the sidelines and the Camas crowd pumped up, but it would only be a preview of things to come.
Quarterback Logan Grindy ran for two touchdowns. He also escaped a blitz and threw a seed to a wide open Kyle Ervin. Odin Coe cleared the road, and Ervin revved his engine all the way to the end zone.
Miguel Salamanca made an incredible circus catch on a pass tipped up by the defender on fourth and long, and Camas punched in another touchdown. Zack Marshall also had a nice run in, and the Papermakers celebrated a 31-0 lead at halftime.
Roldan Alcobendas kicked two field goals.
Camas plays Fort Vancouver next Friday, at Kiggins Bowl. Be prepared for an earlier kickoff. The game begins at 5 p.m.
