Elect David Stuebe for 17th District state representative

As the son of an Air Force Colonel, I have great respect for those who serve in the military. They have ingrained discipline and a hard-work ethic. I have known Colonel (Ret.) David Stuebe for several years and found these same qualities in him.

We both sit on the board of the Washougal Business Association (WBA) and David is a very active member. He has supported our community and small businesses, helping them to grow and be successful.

David can and will perform for the entire 17th District , he has extensive experience with Government, budgets, and he has the drive and an already proven track record of working with people.

Wisdom of Washougal’s new neighborhood registry questioned

Washougal is going to have an HOA and Neighborhood Registry of approximately 200 organizations to “enhance the aesthetic quality” of neighborhoods. With a population of under 17,000, each neighborhood will have on average a maximum membership of 84 people. Of course, those with opinions or axes to grind will be the members, those who are afraid or too busy to raise their hands will not.

It is especially wonderful that our City is replete with many people who, according to our local law enforcement, are heavily armed. So every 84 people in the city are at their liberty to form a group, and just like the Bloods, the Crips, M13, the Jets (Westside Story), and the Ku Klux Klan they will be at liberty to enhance the aesthetics of their “neighborhood” by, for example, asking people who don’t “look right” ‘where you from?’ And taking the appropriate action.

So, Kudos! Great work! Let’s divide our City up into 84 person neighborhoods and build some bunkers, or walls, or put up signs like: “Section 156 residents only past this point. right to pass by permission of the Neighborhood Registry.”

If you hate the purple house down the street, now’s your chance to bombard those tasteless cretins with abuse. Or how about the people who are playing in “Your Park”? Go get ‘em. Arm yourselves. The Registries are coming Fantastic.

Brett Tarnet,

Washougal
