Goodwill Industries of the Columbia Willamette (GICW) will hold a grand-opening celebration for its new Washougal facility at 7:45 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 3.

The event will include a performance from Washougal High School’s cheer team; ribbon-cutting with Washougal Mayor David Stuebe; a speech from Goodwill vocational service director David Miller; multiple drawings for $100 Goodwill gift cards; and coffee and pastries.

The facility, located at 365 Second St., Washougal, includes 10,000 square feet of retail space and a Job Connection facility.

“(GICW) instructors provided nearly 27,000 hours of free skills training and educational services to employees and community members throughout NW Oregon and SW Washington in 2023,” GICW stated in a news release.

“GICW is able to offer these services at no cost thanks to the support of our generous donors and loyal shoppers, and we aim to continue providing meaningful connections and community engagement when our new Washougal location opens. With over 40 employees working in the 10,000 square feet of retail space and Job Connection facility, along with a rotating group of Career Center instructors, we look forward to partnering with community members who wish to enhance their personal and professional skills.”

Goodwill job connection senior program manager Paul Langdon will be available to answer questions.
