Camas, Government, Latest News, News The city of Camas, in conjunction with the Washington State Department of Ecology, Clark County Public Health and the Washington State Department of Health will hold an open house to discuss PFAS, also known as “forever chemicals,” from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, at Lacamas Lake Lodge, 227 N.E. Lake Road, Camas.
Representatives from each of the agencies listed will be available to answer questions and hear concerns regarding PFAS. Participants can ask city of Camas representatives about proposed actions and response to PFAS in Well 13 and the Camas water system, the Department of Ecology about the Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA) cleanup process at the Georgia Pacific paper mill in downtown Camas, and the Department of Health and Clark County Public Health about the Environmental Protection Agency’s new drinking water rule related to PFAS and about overall health related concerns.
A brief introduction will be provided by the city of Camas to kick off the meeting followed by time for community members to ask questions and have one-on-one conversations with agency representatives.
